But which company to choose? It is easy to make a wrong choice and buy a low-quality anti-tear fluid. Let’s consider a list of the best sealants that have performed well in tests.

How To Use Tire Sealant?
Initially, keep a few basic rules in mind:

- If you hear a quiet hissing noise coming from the punctured wheel while cycling after pouring the sealant, then continue riding without paying attention. The puncture will fill with the anti-piercing fluid.
- Experts do not advise the use of automotive sealants. They explain that sealing tubeless tires with the car sealant is ineffective – the puncture will remain.
Any tire sealant comes with the manufacturer’s instructions, which describe the procedure in detail. Then, how to add sealant to tubeless tires? For most products the steps are as follows:
- Remove the wheel from the rim. Remove the object that caused the puncture of the rubber: usually, it is a sharp wire, a nail. If it is in the tire, you will have to use pliers to extract it.
- Remove all the air out of the tire. Unfold the tire so that the puncture place was in a convenient position.
- Does tire sealant work in winter? Yes, however, you need to warm up the sealant bottle a little. Do not use an open flame for this purpose, it is better to warm up the sealant in your hands.
- Remove the spool. Install the tip of the cylinder or the tube that comes with the kit for sealant, on the valve of the wheel, fix it as securely as possible.
- Fill the tubeless tire with sealant by pushing on the can valve. The latter should only be placed in an upright position. The question arises: how much sealant per tire? It is not that complicated! Let us explain the point. First of all, the amount depends on the inside area, and this often depends on the diameter, height, and width of the tire. Our goal is to have enough sealant to cover the entire tire from the inside and some left to cope with punctures. So there is a certain minimum, which can be recommended, and the maximum is limited only by our adequacy and willingness to carry extra fluid in the wheel. If you pour too little, it may simply not be enough to seal the puncture. If you pour too much, the only significant problem will be the extra weight that will be bubbling around inside the tire, negating the weight gain. The estimations are further: 1 inch is 60 ml; 2 inches is 80 ml; 2.5 inches is 90 ml; 3 inches – 100 ml; 4 inches – 120 ml.
- After the tire has been shaped, disconnect the can from the valve. Check the tire pressure and, if necessary, deflate or inflate the tire with a compressor. Now you know how to get a tubeless tire to seal.
How Often Do You Need To Add Tire Sealant To Bike Tires?
It all depends on the conditions of use. It retains better in the cooler, and logically worse in the hotter conditions. Also, don’t forget that when you puncture it, some volume comes out. For all these reasons, it is recommended to either change all the sealant in the tubeless tires every six months, or, if conditions are good and the punctures were minimal, just add one-third of the required volume. Or if you feel while riding that the pressure in the tire is low- obvious sign it’s time to add sealant to the tubeless tire.
